Privacy policy

MerchantTrim measures which pages and tools are useful without trying to identify individual visitors.

What we record

We record simple site events: page views, calculator or checklist use, downloads, reading depth, and clicks to software vendors or affiliate links. A record may include the page, vendor, link location, time, and the hostname of the site that referred you.

What we do not store

Our analytics table does not store your IP address, browser details, advertising IDs, a visitor ID, full referring URL, form entries, checklist choices, workbook contents, store revenue, app spend, or calculator values. We do not use analytics cookies.

Why we record these events

They help us see which guides are being read, which tools are used, and what needs updating. MerchantTrim does not sell visitor data.

Where the site runs

MerchantTrim runs through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare services. Those providers may temporarily process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, even though MerchantTrim does not save that information in its analytics table.

Affiliate links

MerchantTrim uses clearly labeled affiliate links. After you click one, the vendor or affiliate network may use its own cookies or identifiers. The page will disclose the relationship, and the destination site’s privacy policy will apply to its tracking.

Your choices

We keep aggregate analytics only while they are useful for running the site. Because we do not assign a visitor ID, we generally cannot separate one person’s events from the total. Browser content blockers can prevent these event requests.
