Privacy policy

MerchantTrim is designed to learn what content is useful without building visitor profiles.

Information we collect

We record aggregate interaction events such as a page view, calculator or checklist use, a resource download, and clicks to a software vendor. Each record can include the page path, vendor name, link placement, event time, and referring website hostname.

Information we deliberately do not store

Our analytics event table does not store IP addresses, user-agent strings, advertising identifiers, persistent visitor IDs, full referring URLs, form inputs, checklist selections, workbook contents, store revenue, app spend, or calculator values. We do not use analytics cookies.

Why we use this information

We use aggregate events to understand which guides and tools help readers, prioritize updates, measure vendor-link interest, and improve the publication. We do not sell visitor data.

Service infrastructure

The site and its aggregate event data run on infrastructure supplied through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare services. Their processing may include transient technical data needed to serve and protect the website even when MerchantTrim does not store that data in its analytics table.

Affiliate links

If affiliate links are introduced, the destination vendor or affiliate network may set its own cookies or identifiers after you follow the link. The relevant page will disclose the commercial relationship, and the destination’s privacy policy will govern its tracking.

Retention and choices

Aggregate analytics are retained only while useful for operating the publication. Because MerchantTrim does not assign a visitor identifier, we generally cannot isolate events belonging to a particular visitor. You can prevent browser-side event requests with network or content-blocking controls.
