Do you need a page builder at all?
Modern Shopify themes can already handle many layouts. A page builder makes sense when custom landing pages help you sell more or save enough build time to cover the subscription and upkeep. If you only need a better product template, check what your theme can do first.
PageFly’s strongest case
PageFly currently lists a free plan and a $24/month Builder plan that starts with five published slots. Its Shopify App Store listing also highlights templates, app integrations, A/B testing, and conversion tools. It is a practical first test when you have one specific page to build.

GemPages’ strongest case
GemPages is worth trying when editor speed and reusing campaign layouts matter most. Plans and limits change, so check the current price, publishing allowance, and testing features against the number of pages you expect to build.

The hidden cost: page dependency
The subscription is only part of the cost. Include training, checking pages on mobile, extra scripts, app integrations, and what happens to published pages if you uninstall. A builder that saves two hours on every campaign may be a bargain. One that makes every page hard to move may not be.
Our recommendation
Build the same sales page in each tool with the same copy, sections, integrations, and mobile layout. Keep the winner if it clearly saves build time or lets you run a useful test your theme cannot handle.

How MerchantTrim makes money
This page currently uses direct, non-affiliate links. We may apply to relevant partner programs after building a track record of useful content. If links later earn a commission, we will label that clearly and the ranking method will not change.
